Purpose of Position

This position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students (AVP/DOS);

Serves as a primary communication link for the AVP Office with other executive offices, the Student Conduct, Rights, and Advocacy Office, and offices reporting to the AVP, faculty, staff and students.

Primary Responsibilities

Provides professional level administrative support to the AVP/DOS and the Director of Student Conduct, Rights, and Advocacy (SCRA) including answering and screening the telephone calls, appropriately directing the calls, copying & filing, maintaining calendars, overseeing budget and recording keeping, and attending to administrative tasks as delegated by these two positions.

Serve as administrative assistant and front office support for the Office of Student Conduct, Rights, and Advocacy; Serve as a referral agent for students, families, faculty, and staff needing assistance and direction.

Process budget documents on SAP system, maintain budget and recording keeping, and approve time for Directors in Student Engagement.

Compose correspondence/reports for AVP’s signature, check incoming requests and ensure completion of work on deadlines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience required.

Experience in a higher education setting is preferred.

Excellent computer skills, specifically a strong command of Microsoft Office and must be able to create and maintain excel spreadsheets at more than basic level.

Understanding of NKU policies, procedures and systems specifically SAP is desirable.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as students and outside clients is required.
