Purpose of Position

Plans, leads and directs university-wide marketing strategy in line with overall strategic plan and vision.

Work with internal and external partners to analyze and assess return on investments, cost vs. budget, and market development.

Primary Responsibilities

Oversees the development and production of signature university-wide integrated marketing strategies and campaigns, including digital, content and revenue-oriented projects.

Leads the marketing team and works with the communications team, internal creative team, external partners, as well as any other resources to produce campaigns by identified deadlines and within agreed upon budgetary ranges.

Develops, implements, tracks and analyzes SEO and SEM strategies for the university based on website analytics and trends.

Tracks, measures and reports on results of marketing campaigns and activities to determine ROI.

Identifies opportunities and challenges for NKU while reinforcing strengths for the university. Develops and recommends marketing strategies to achieve university-wide goals, including increased revenue and profitable market share, while focusing on our achievements in higher education.


Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or communications.

• 5-7 years’ experience working in marketing or market research, preferably within higher education
• Ability to analyze multiple data sets and make effective decisions about ROI for short-term and long-term results
• Excellent interpersonal, written, communication and presentation skills
• Strong leadership skills, experience in coaching and managing others and successfully leading project teams
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and contribute creative ideas
• Some travel, nights and weekends may be required (>10%)
