Purpose of Position

Kentucky College Coaches (KCC) is an AmeriCorps program that has operated under Kentucky Campus Compact since 2010. Currently, 32 full-time AmeriCorps members serve in high schools around the state to help students graduate and go to post-secondary education or other training. AmeriCorps members help to build a college going culture in the high school, conduct one-on-one mentoring with a minimum of 50 students, and conduct whole school activities that support post-secondary education activities.

Recently KyCC received additional funding to expand services to Area Technology Centers and to Veterans Offices at colleges and universities around Kentucky. The funding will pay for 2 program advisors to work full time until August 31, 2017.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Recruit individuals to serve in the Kentucky College Coaches AmeriCorps program.
2. Complete paperwork for NKU, CNCS, and KCCVS.
3. Train, support, and provide technical assistance and monitoring to AmeriCorps members and site supervisors.
4. Compile data for reports.
5. Assist with grant writing.


1. Associate’s Degree.
2. Demonstrated skills in organization and attention to detail; an ability to keep accurate records in a format that can be easily accessed by other staff members.
3. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
4. Strong computer skills; able to use excel, Microsoft Word, Google docs, able or able to learn to post updates on the website, able to use social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
5. Demonstrated professional skills such as phone and office etiquette, team work, dress, and customer service.
6. Ability to travel within Kentucky.
